GASTRONOMIC TOUR + LUNCH + CITY TOUR Visit to a Typical Peruvian Market During the visit to Mercado Modelo Market in Surquillo passengers will have the chance to see the ingredients used to prepare our most traditional dishes.Departure to the cooking master class. Preparation of Pisco Sour and Ceviche Arrival at a traditional eatery where our Chef we will give us a practical demonstration of how ceviche, our most representative dish, is prepared as well as the mixing and a tasting of a delicious pisco sour, our world famous cocktail. Buffet lunch We will continue our journey to another well known restaurant in order to taste a wide variety of traditional Peruvian cuisine dishes and desserts. Modern Lima We will continue our tour visiting the modern suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores where we will see the Financial Center, the San Isidro Golf Course and the Olive Grove Park. We will also go by the Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca pyramid shape temple that has survived the expansion of modern civilization. We will stop at Love Park and enjoy a nice view of the Pacific Ocean, as we drive down the Miraflores Malecon, a road along the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Colonial Lima We will visit downtown Lima`s historical center, designated by Unesco as Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 1991. In this journey we will enjoy what once was the center of the 16th century Spanish colony. We will see the Plaza Mayor, the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop`s Palace, the City Hall and the Desamparados Train Station. We will also see Plaza San Martin, a large park surrounded by old colonial buildings still displaying beautiful carved wood balconies and other landmarks. San Francisco Monastery and Catacombs We enter one of the most important monasteries of the seventeenth century. Visit the old library, the chorus, the Main Cloister and the underground crypts known as the Catacombs. Museum of the Central Reserve Bank * We observe the “Treasures of Peru Collection”, a fine selection of gold objects, ceramics and textiles of various pre -Columbian cultures. * Museum del Bank Central de Reserva, closed to the public Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Monday closed all day.
